About
Seneca County Sheriff’s Office provides an inmate work crew who are selected through an application and interview process. They do work inside and outside of the jail facility and are supervised by an armed deputy at all times.
The work crew worked an average of 7 hours a day and had an average of 3 inmates working each day.
The project list is diverse that they do outside of the jail and inside the jail they typically do clean up, painting, light construction, landscaping, weed eating and various other internal projects to keep our facility clean and looking professional.
For the outside projects they can only be utilized for other governmental agencies or charity entities and not for private businesses.
Typically they do inside projects at the jail or other facilities like painting, stripping and waxing floors, demo work, etc. during the winter months of November through March. In April through October they are on a heavy schedule of outside work for various villages, townships, cities and throughout the county for county projects.
